My Beauty Highlights from 2017

My Beauty Highlights from 2017

Let’s end this year with a round-up of my Beauty highlights from 2017. Some of them or let’s be honest all of them I mentioned before in one or two blog posts or over on my Instagram. However, I thought it would make a great last post for 2017 to get them all together in one place.

the only blush you need

I love a good blush, but when it’s a blush an highlighter in one – that’s heaven just right there. The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush has been my favourite blush up to this date. I’ve been using it every day since I got it back in August. Just look at it. Isn’t it beautiful? It gives me a subtle blush and a little bit of that shimmer. Perfect for my everyday makeup. or you could pack it on for a good night out.

the mascara for every situation and easy brows

Another beauty highlight from 2017 has to be the Better Than Sex Mascara from Too Faced. It gives me that volume and I can even go for a swim with it. Once you’ve tried it you won’t go back – that I can tell you.

For my brows, I recently discovered a new product, which became quickly a new favourite. The Maybelline brow tattoo. You basically apply it, leave it to dry and remove it. What you are left with is a perfect brow which will last you for up to 3 days. It’s hassle free and saves you a lot of time in the morning. Who wouldn’t love that?!

when in doubt – red lips

I stopped using lipstick on a daily basis but whenever I go out or put on some lipstick I tend to go for a red one. I heard of the NYX liquid matte lipsticks a lot but never tried them until this year. They not only smell nice, they glide on like a dream and even smell yummy. Oh, and they aren’t as drying on my lips than some other matte ones. So it was a no-brainer to list the NYX liquid matte lipstick as one of my beauty highlights from 2017.

Contour all the way

As it’s my beauty highlights from the whole year my Kat von D shade and light contour kit had to be included. As you might see, there’s only the slightest dent in my fave contour shade (the bottom left one). I’ve been using it since summer and I can see it me lasting for a long time. You only need the tiniest bit to give you that lovely contour. Can’t recommend it enough.

Wood, sage and sea salt

Doesn’t it just sound lovely? Wood, sage and sea salt is my new found fragrance from Jo Malone. I lusted after one of their perfumes for ages and I’m glad I got myself one this year. It has a fresh scent to it while also being a little bit heavy. But I really like it. I’ve never been one who goes for the really sweet perfumes, so this one is just right up my street.

For that natural glow

As my last beauty highlights from 2017 – I’d like to introduce you to my fave skin care products. An old favourite is my ultra facial face cream from Kiehl’s. It gives me all the moisture and leaves my skin ready to put on some makeup.

Now to my other skin care highlights – recently I got my hands on some Pixi products. I read a lot about this amazing British brand and I have to say, they didn’t disappoint. I only been using the Glow Tonic and the Jasim Oil Serum for a few week but already can feel and see the benefits. My skin is smooth and has that natural glow, we all try to achieve so hard. I couldn’t be happier with them.

only the best

So this is my round-up of my beauty highlights from 2017. There is a bit of everything and these are genuinely the products I use on a daily basis.  If you want some more reviews or details on the products. I tried to link all my posts about them. So don’t be shy and have a nosy.

What have your highlights been beauty wise? Let me know in the comment’s down below and don’t forget to follow my blog n my other social media   Instagram / Twitter / FB and Bloglovin’, I’ll be forever grateful.

Have an amazing night and happy new year to all of you lovelies,

Your photography here is absolutely stunning! Can you believe it’s now 2018 and I’ve never tried Better Than Sex? The wand always confused me a bit. I love that Jo Malone fragrance x

    • January 2, 2018 / 11:58 pm

Thank you so much, Sophie. I was more confused by the weight of the mascara than the wand. Go and have a sniff, it’s a lovely fragrance indeed. xx

I know this blush is just so photogenic 😉 xx

    • January 11, 2018 / 10:03 pm

Thank you Tia. I just love that blush and it’s so photogenic as well! xx

  12. January 11, 2018 / 9:20 pm

Such a perfect list of picks!!! I’m currently on the lookout for some new products to try.
The Hourglass blush looks so nice – I haven’t actually tried anything from the brand yet so maybe this needs to on my ‘to buy’ list.
I’m using the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara at the moment and tbh I don’t know how I feel about it haha – I want to go back to L’Oreal Telescopic – I feel the more ‘comb’ type wand really combs out my lashes – As the brush types wands seems to clump extremely easily.
I also want to get my hands on the NYX matte lip cremes! I was given a free Tarte matte lip paint when I was in the US at Sephora and I really love it (I don’t usually wear lip products) but would love to try NYX still as its a much cheaper alternative – just hoping I’m not disappointed if it doesn’t compare to the Tarte one.

Thank you Jordanne. I know it’s amazing. I just got myself a new one. So happy with it. Oh the Kat von D pallet is to die for and now I heard the made the packaging so that you can change each colour individually ;).

  14. January 11, 2018 / 9:32 pm

Your photos are so gorgeous! The NYX lipsticks are my absolute favourites and the soft matte lip cremes are amazing for travelling with. There are a few brands on your list I’m not familiar with, so I’ll definitly be checking them out! x

  15. January 11, 2018 / 9:38 pm

Cool products! I don’t even wear makeup but it’s fun to look at pictures. Which products would you recommend for a beginner?

    • January 11, 2018 / 10:11 pm

Oh, there are many products you could go for as a beginner. I would say just have a look around the high street and in Boots/ Superdrug. I started with Barry M and Rimmel, Rimmel really has amazing makeup at a good price. xx
