Maybe you heard it or seen on my Insta (follow here) I’ve been on a holiday to Mexico and it was bloody amazing! So I thought I would take you with me to Mexico and show you what I got up to.
the journey
After 3 flights (Zurich to New York, New York to Miami, Miami – Cancun) and a overnight stay in Miami because we had a delayed flight, we managed to find ourself a taxi on the Saturday morning which took us to our hotel in Playa del Carmen. As we already had the room for Friday night (when we should have arrived) it was ready for us to use upon arrival.
our hotel – the grand hyatt playa del carmen
Let me just get this out of the way – we found an amazing deal for this hotel which made it affordable for us. Otherwise it would have been quite another story but like I said girl got lucky. So the grand hyatt playa del carmen is a beautiful hotel, modern and the architecture is stunning. When you arrive you have a sea view from the reception and everything is open, so you can feel the summery air.
Our room was in a corner, so we didn’t have a sea view but it was really quiet and lovely. We anyways didn’t spend a lot of time in the room. However it was lovely with lots of wood and turquoise details.
The best feature for me has definitely to be the pool area. It’s amazingly done with the different levels and pools. Plus you have direct access to the beach and the Caribbean sea!
Oh the Caribbean sea, how nice it was! The sea salt water has benefited my skin so much. It’s really soft and I like to think my hair liked it too. Besides it was much welcomed to cool us down in the heat. And when the sea was to warm, yes that can happen, we turned to the pool.
Say hello to the infinity pool, the sun beds and lots of time to read my books and sunbath. Besides using the pool ourselves it was a lot of fun seeing how all the other guests took their pictures. I mean yes, with this view you gotta take some pics but you wouldn’t believe how far some people went. There were the ones with their sushi in the pool or the girl how had a full on half an hour session dancing, jumping, twirling, posing while her brother took millions of photos and films. It was quite entertaining as you can see.

Beside enjoying the hotel pool area we went on some adventures, took some walks around Playa del Carmen and ate lots and lots of really yummy food.
